A Message From Our CEO

Last week, I met with a local bank CEO to share an update on our capital campaign and ask for his support. As our conversation began, I outlined the vision for our future and where we are in the process of making that vision a reality. Then I paused and asked for his thoughts.

I expected questions about competition for funding, the impact of other community projects, or concerns about financing and sustaining a new facility. Instead, he asked a simple question:

“What keeps you up at night?”

Without hesitation, I replied, “Keeping our kids safe.”

For more than 30 years, that has been my North Star. While many factors can influence our work and many circumstances remain beyond our control, one responsibility has always guided every decision I make: ensuring that every child we serve is safe, supported, and given the opportunity to thrive.

Thankfully, I have never carried that responsibility alone. Every day, I am surrounded by dedicated staff, volunteers, board members, and supporters who share the same commitment. Together, we have made it our mission to positively impact the lives of children and families throughout our community.

As we move forward with our Bigger. Better. Bolder. initiative, that commitment remains stronger than ever. This project is about more than a new building. It is about creating a safe, welcoming, and inspiring environment where children can learn, grow, build relationships, and develop the skills they need to succeed. It is about ensuring that the young people who spend their after-school and summer days with us have the space, resources, and opportunities they deserve.

My promise is simple: I will continue to put the safety and well-being of our children at the center of every decision we make.

I hope you will join us in turning this vision into reality. Together, we can create a brighter future for the children who are counting on us.
